Handy hints and information to help you get the most out of the game
Things you may not know (yet)!
So, what is this section all about? You may have been playing Neverwinter for years and think you know everything there is to know, or you could be a newbie with lots left to discover. The thing is, we take a lot of things for granted and assume that everyone knows them, and newbies don't always want to ask questions all the time for fear of "bugging" other players. Hopefully, this is where you will find the answers to these and other questions that you didn't even know that you needed to ask.
(If you have any hints you would like to add to this list, please send them via the "Suggestions" form)

Making AD via Explorer Cases
Have you used Explorer Cases to make AD yet?
Explorer Cases provide a map to professions resources that can be sold or used by Mastercrafters. This is a great source of AD, I have made over 10M on selling these resources on a weekend (2x Professions).

Where do I get Explorer Cases?
From the Generalist vendor in the Stronghold. Older Explorer Cases cost 1.5K Guild Marks, newer Explorer Cases cost 3K Guild Marks.

Where do I get the Guild Marks?
Donating to the SH coffer items you obtain from doing dailys in the SH and also from vouchers you get in the siege event (this is an excellent way to accumulate a lot of Guild Marks fast).

Which Explorer Cases do I buy?
For AD, here is the average value per Explorer Case assuming 4x Professions Drop.
Bryn Shander: 64K
Lonelywood: 56K
Skyhold: 43K
Whispering Caverns: 28K
Vellosk: 25K
Cold Run: 23K
Hotenow: 21K

NOTE: Prices will drop throughout the weekend. It may serve you better to hoard the items to sell at a later date when the prices have recovered again.

What do you mean assuming x4?
During 2x Professions you get x2 the resources from each Explorer Case. Also we have two guilds in the Alliance that have the Explorer Boon which gives an additional 2x Resources. They are willing to let Alliance members bring an alt to their guild temporarily to use this boon. You must leave the guild when you are done to make room for other people to join (do not stay in the guild over night etc). To get an invite reach out to an officer of Valaraukari Ascension or H2llsWarriors. It's a courtesy to donate to their coffer while you're there.

How to stop theives bagging your hard earned loot
Safer Loot Rolls
It has become more of an issue since Chult to make sure you don't get cheated out of your loot when using lures etc.. The best way is to try to run with guildies or a group you trust where you can agree beforehand who gets what, but that isn't always practical. The best way to guarantee nobody can steal your loot is to set the loot roll to "Party Leader Decides" and make sure you are the party leader. It also works if you are running with a friend or two, as the leader can ask who wants the loot if they already have that item and then send it directly to whoever needs it.

To set the loot roll, join a party then press the letter "O" to bring up the Social Screen - go to "My Party" tab (3rd one along) and then you can set the "Loot Mode" to "Party Leader Decides" (You can also choose the "Party Privacy" and "Loot Threshold" in this window).I think it will stay set this way until you change it, so every time you are the Party Leader, you should be safe.

(This information is for PC - I don't know if it works on other platforms).

Tyranny of Dragons 2x Event
To make the most of a 2x Tyranny event, it is a good idea to run Tiamat as often as you can over the weekend - Not only will that get you 2x Linus favor for each successful run, but you may also get some nice goodies in the process (and even more chance of that if you have Dragon Queen's Keys to open the chest as well).

Did you know that if you have or buy 800 Dragon Hoard Coffers (they are available on Auction House), that when you give them in for the "Rewards for the Hoard" quest in Well of Dragons, they will give you double the Linus during this event, therefore giving you the 16 Linus to complete the last two boons? (Just don't forget to get the quest again before adding more coffers to the haul). Unfortunately, this information may not help you this time around as the price of coffers has become inflated on the AH, but if you don't get them all this time, you can maybe stock up on coffers before the next Tyrrany event. (Many thanks to Kris for this helpful hint).
(Be careful Lostmauth doesn't catch you)
Aquiring Dragon Coffers
Following on from the Tyranny post, here is a helpful tip supplied by Zireael.

The best way to get Dragon Hoard Coffers is by participating in a Dragon Run (dr) in Well of Dragons as this grants you coffers. The runs take place every hour and 3k_zerg channel regularly host them there. If you are not a member of 3k zerg, just keep an eye on the Zone chat window and people will announce them and start forming groups which you can join.
Now that the Linus Favor cost of the final triple boon has been drastically reduced, you may as well collect Linus as well by taking the "Rewards for the Hoard" weekly quest which also requires 15 x Dragon Hoard Coffers.
Only possible during Winter Festival
More ways to get Linus Favors
Another way to get the 16 Linus Favors to complete the Tyranny of Dragons boons is to go fishing during the Winter Festival (I know, more fishing, but it's much easier to fish there than SOMI, thank goodness)!

If you can spare the inventory space, buy some Sabiki Rigs in the AH as they are cheap straight after the event finishes and then you don't have to spend 100 zen to get 6 of them. Each rig lasts for 12 minutes, so they are far better than the Scorps or other lures. Get yourself the Legendary fishing rod, pop a Sabiki Rig and settle in for a spot of fishing. You are after the "Treasures of Tiamat" as 10 of these will get you one Linus from the vendor on the stairs below and to the left of the sled race entrance slope. You will also collect other treasures which you can use to buy other campaign currency's for Sharandar, Icewind Dale and Dread Ring so it's pretty profitable spending some time doing this. You probably don't need to bother moving to different ice holes either, as I have had treasures drop from green holes just as much as the blue or purple ones; in fact, purple ones just tend to drop more Candlefish which only matters if you are taking part in the fishing contest at the same time (which happens to last 12 minutes as well). You can also get RP from handing in the fish and converting the resulting lights, so time well spent all round.
